A Victoria man says he’s looking forward to moving into a new home and travelling after scratching and winning big.

When Robert Ackerman realized he had scored $100,000 from a British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) “Set for Life” Scratch & Win ticket, he couldn’t believe his eyes.

“I was at home and I stood there for a few minutes and just looked at it,” recalled Ackerman. “I got my glasses to make sure it was true.”

He purchased his lucky ticket at the Save-On-Foods grocery store on Foul Bay Road and called his sister immediately after winning to share the good news.

“She was cheering while I was still in shock,” added Ackerman. “It feels pretty darn good.”

The odds of winning a $100,000 prize on “Set for Life” are 1 in 3,050,000, according to BCLC’s website.
