A Vancouver Canucks’ game and a dinner with his wife are among the ways Victoria’s Richard Pepper will celebrate his $502,000 winnings in a Lotto Max draw.

The BC Lottery Corporation says Pepper matched six out of seven numbers, plus the bonus number from the Lotto Max draw held Dec. 21.

“It was unbelievable. I just sat there, staring at the screen,” Peppers said in a release.

“I checked my numbers that were on my computer, then I called my wife. When she saw the numbers she ran out the door to the nearest lottery kiosk to double check to see if someone in Victoria actually won.”

Pepper said he plans to put some of the money to investments and helping his family out.

Pepper also said the win relieves lots of stress, allowing him to retire without selling his house.
