A man in Victoria is a little richer thanks to a recent decision of his.

Heinz Burki recently purchased a Deluxe Crossword Scratch & Win ticket from the Save-On-Foods on Foul Bay Road.

According to the BCLC, Burki got home, scratched the ticket and, at first, figured he’d won $10,000.

“I thought I had won $10,000,” Burki recalled in a BCLC press release, adding. “I told my wife we get to go on a trip.”

But, as it turns out, Burki in fact actually won much more money than he thought.

“I realized I forgot to scratch a letter off, and I actually won $75,000,” he said in the release.

Burki described the moment as “exciting” and looks forward to doing some travelling with his wife. He also plans to share some of the winnings with his daughter.
