Based on places to go to drink coffee, eat vegan or get a tattoo, Victoria tops the list in Canada as the most hipster city, according to a survey conducted by MoveHub.

The survey gave a hipster index score based on the number of vegan eateries, coffee shops, tattoo studios, vintage boutiques and record stores per 100,000 thousand residents and produced a total out of 10 for each city.

Victoria had a score of 4.6409, the top mark in Canada and ranked 88th in the world.

Brighton and Hove in the United Kingdom is crowned the most hipster city in the world with a score of 8.1632, one-thousandth of a point ahead of second-place Portland, Oregon.

Cities with a population under 150,000 were not considered.

Kelowna is the most hip city after Victoria in the country, coming in at 114th overall.
