VicPD seize drugs and cash following trafficking investigation at temporary housing facility

The Victoria Police Department has seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, and approximately $20,000 in cash after a drug trafficking investigation at a multi-unit temporary housing facility in Victoria.

VicPD says that the seizure happened following a search warrant at a suite in a temporary housing facility, located in the 3000-block of Blanshard Street.

During the warrant, officers with the Community Services Division and Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) located “significant quantities” of fentanyl methamphetamine, along with hundreds of pills suspected to be controlled substances.

In addition, officers seized approximately $20,000 in cash, a taser, and an e-bike believed to be stolen.

A 51-year-old man from Victoria was arrested at the scene, however, was later released from custody pending further investigation.

Officers will be recommending charges related to drug trafficking, however, the file remains under investigation.
