The Victoria Police Department has released that officers responded to two simultaneous calls for men armed with knives on Wednesday.

The Victoria Police Department has released that officers responded to two simultaneous calls for men armed with knives on Wednesday afternoon.

In a police report, VicPD says that at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 21, patrol officers responded to a report of a man armed with a knife in Centennial Square.

As police were responding to this call, several unrelated reports were received simultaneously about a man with a knife chasing another man in the 500-block of Ellice Street Victoria’s Rock Bay neighbourhood.

Police say that additional patrol and VicPD K9 officers were deployed in order to respond to this second call.

According to the police report, a man was taken into custody in the Rock Bay neighbourhood for breaching conditions, while a victim was located and appeared to not have been physically injured.

Police add that this victim was not cooperative with officers and that the incident is still under investigation.

As for the call to Centennial Square, police were unable to locate the man who allegedly had a knife and the incident also remains under investigation.
