A Vancouver Island restaurant has made it onto this year’s list of “OpenTable’s Top 100 restaurants in Canada for 2023.”
OpenTable is a restaurant reservation service, and on Monday it released its list of the most sought-after restaurants in the country.
British Columbia took home 20 of the top 100 spots, but only one Vancouver Island restaurant made the list.
OpenTable says The Butchart Gardens – The Dining Room was one of the top restaurant destinations in the country this year.
The list was created by OpenTable by reviewing more than 1.1 million diner reviews, as well as metrics like number of five-star reviews and percent of reservations made in advance.
While Butchart Gardens may be best known for its historic flowers, the dining room also has deep roots in the community.
The restaurant is located in the original Butchart family residence, and its meals use local, seasonal ingredients.
Its high tea meals are also in demand, with a variety of styles being offered, including gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and dairy sensitive versions of high tea on the menu.
