West Shore RCMP closed Goldstream Avenue in Langford, from Jacklin to Matson Roads, after a package was reported around 8 a.m. at a bus stop at the intersection with Jacklin Road. It was determined to not be explosive and the road has reopened.

UPDATE: A suspicious package reported to Westshore RCMP at a Langford bus stop has been determined to not be explosive and the safe zone has been lifted.

In an update, West Shore RCMP says it is determined to be electrical wiring that runs out of the bus shelter located at the intersection of Goldstream Avenue and Jacklin Road.

Police received the report of a suspicious package around 8 a.m. and closed Goldstream Avenue from Jacklin Road to Matson Road, with Ruth King Elementary School in the area.

Police say the road is reopened and the city of Langford has been advised and are working on the wires.

In a statement, West Shore RCMP thanked the public for its patience and allowing police the space to investigate.
