You can find pretty much anything at Costco,
But this week something unexpected landed on the store’s shelves in Langford.
A juvenile goshawk was stuck inside the retailer’s warehouse on McCallum Road for two days.
Two falconers arrived late Wednesday afternoon to try to return the bird to more familiar skies.
They blocked off the aisle, lured it down from its perch atop a shelving unit, and managed to trap it.
Staff say the bird was then taken to the Wild Arc wild animal rehabilitation centre in Victoria.
It will be examined and then, they’re told, released.
Staff say he may not have stuck around for long, but they got pretty attached to their surprise guest.
