Emergency crews respond to a rollover near Courtenay on Sept. 24, 2020.
Two people were taken to hospital Thursday after a rollover near Courtenay.
The crash happened on Duncan Bay Main Line Road, near Forbidden Plateau Road.
According to emergency officials, a vehicle went off the road and down about 15 feet (four metres) down a gravel pit, landing on its roof, sometime before 5 p.m
Two people were in the vehicle and both were conscious when the Courtenay Fire Department arrived. The Jaws of Live was used to extricate both people.
One person was airlifted to the hospital while another one was sent by ground ambulance to hospital. Both people suffered serious injuries.
