Two sisters remembered for being beautiful and energetic children have been identified as the victims of a double homicide in Oak Bay.

Family friend Trisha Lees says six-year-old Chloe Berry and four-year-old Aubrey Berry were full of energy and smiles.

Police discovered their bodies in a ground-floor apartment after being called to a residence in the 1400-block of Beach Drive on Christmas Day.

The girl’s mother contacted police Monday after they were not returned to her as scheduled by their father.

The children’s father was found injured at the residence, and was taken to hospital.
