Mounties say a home in Revelstoke was hit with Molotov cocktails.

According to the Revelstoke RCMP, officers responded to a home 1100-block of Fourth Street East after receiving reports that Molotov cocktails had been tossed into the house at around 3 a.m. on Aug. 6.

Someone was inside the home when the cocktails were thrown and managed to extinguish the flames before they could spread to other areas of the house, said RCMP.

Revelstoke RCMP arrested a 36-year-old man and a 34-year-old man in connection with the incident after they apparently returned to the scene of the crime awhile later.

Our front line RCMP officers responded to the scene and gathered evidence, states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, spokesperson for the RCMP Southeast District. As a result of the investigation and police tactics used, two men were taken into police custody without incident, after they allegedly returned to the arson scene approximately an hour later.

The two men are facing potential charges and remain in police custody at the moment.

Revelstoke RCMP said the investigation is still ongoing as forensic specialists with RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Services continue to examine the scene.
