Two cruise ship staff rescued in waters off Victoria after falling from lifeboat

Two crew members on a cruise ship had to be rescued from the waters off Victoria after falling from a lifeboat on Thursday night.

A passenger on the Explorer of the Seas captured the moment that two of the three crew on the small boat went overboard around 8:30 p.m.

It appears that a cable attached to the rescue craft caused it to flip as it was being lifted or lowered, dumping them into the water near Ogden Point.

Both were wearing lifejackets.

C-Tow Victoria/Sidney also posted video of the rescue, saying the two crew members were picked up by the pilot boat.

The post on Facebook also says the two were checked out by paramedics in Victoria before being cleared to return to the ship
