Loblaw Companies Limited issued the No Name brand recall following findings by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency during an investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. The agency is continuing its investigation that may result in more recalls, there has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of the chicken nuggets.

Mondelēz Canada recalled the Christie brand Ritz Bits due to a recall in another country. There have been no reported illnesses resulting from the crackers.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says consumers who believe the products may have made them sick should contact their doctor.

Officials say food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.
