Two arrested for alleged tire theft in Langford

An alert witness is being credited with helping RCMP in Langford nab two alleged tire thieves.

The person called police around 5 a.m. on Sunday after noticing a suspicious vehicle.

It was parked against the back of a tire shop in the 2600-block of Sooke Road near Jacklin Road. 

Officers arrived to find a woman inside a white pickup truck and a man crawling on the ground next to the vehicle.

They also noticed what appeared to be several tires in the back of the truck.

The two were arrested at the scene and it was later confirmed that the tires were indeed taken from the shop.

37-year old Andrew Trueman and 45-year old Carol Poole of Sidney were released on bail are scheduled to be back in court on May 4th.
