West Shore RCMP officers have recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested two people in the process after receiving a tip from the public.

According to police, officers received a report at around 6 p.m. on March 17 from a member of the public regarding the possible sighting of a recently stolen vehicle.

The vehicle had been spotted in the area of the 2000-block of Jacklin Road in Langford.

RCMP headed to the area and was able to locate the vehicle along with a female occupant inside and an associated man standing nearby.

The 45-year-old Victoria woman was arrested for possession of stolen property and for an unendorsed warrant out of Victoria.

The man, a 41-year-old from Victoria, was also arrested for an unendorsed warrant out of Central Saanich.

Both are currently in custody and charges have been recommended.

We would like to thank the public for their great observation skills on what they believed to be criminal activity, leading to the recovery of a stolen vehicle, says spokesperson, Cst Meghan Groulx of the West Shore RCMP.
