A woman received non-life threatening injuries after an armed robbery, VicPD said.

A man and a woman allegedly robbed someone at gunpoint last week in Victoria.

According to a Victoria Police Department media release, two suspects –a man and a woman – allegedly visited a multi-unit residential facility located in the 400-block of Swift Street on June 16 where they then allegedly robbed and assaulted a female resident while “brandishing a handgun”

The female victim received non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident, while the two suspects fled on foot but were eventually arrested by VicPD officers.

The two suspects, who were not identified, have already appeared in court on charges stemming from a robbery with a firearm and an assault, the release noted.

According to B.C. Court Services, Robert Keith Hawkins and Elisabeth Kristina Kovacs are each facing one count of robbery and one count of assault. Hawkins remains in custody while Kovacs has been released.

VicPD told CHEK News in an e-mail that they cannot comment further on the case as it is before the courts, other than that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
