A truck is photographed on its side after a single-vehicle rollover crash in a roundabout on West Shore Parkway.

One driver was sent to hospital following a single-vehicle rollover crash in a roundabout on West Shore Parkway, near Centre Mountain Lellum Middle School in Langford.

The roundabout was closed due to the crash, which happened around 11 a.m. Monday, according to BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS). The road later reopened around 1:30 p.m.

West Shore RCMP Const. Nancy Saggar says the driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

BC Emergency Health Services says paramedics responded to the 1200-block with two ambulances.

“Paramedics cared for and transported one patient to hospital,” it said in an email to CHEK News.

Saggar says it’s not believed that impaired driving was a factor in the crash.

“This was a truck full of tree stumps… the load appears to have shifted as it was going through the roundabout, and the truck rolled as a result,” she said.

Around 1 p.m., she said it was unlikely the driver would be issued a ticket, “but the officers are still on scene, so I can’t say for certain.”
