RCMP are investigating after a traffic counter valued at $8,000 was stolen from Qualicum Beach sometime between Nov. 18 and Nov. 21.

Staff reported the theft to police on Nov. 21. Police said the traffic counter is a grey box that was secured to a signpost approximately 100 metres west of Arbutus Road and Laburnum Road.

The device is known as an SDR traffic and is manufactured by DataCollect.
