Three killer whales provide ‘exhilarating’ show for onlookers in Sidney

Three orcas swimming near beaches in Sidney caught the attention of some onlookers Monday.

Darcie Jennings shot video of what she described as one large male, female and a smaller whale in the waters off Sidney, saying it was “exhilarating” to see them.

Jennings, who spotted the whales while walking her dogs along the Lochside Trail, said the whales were close to shore and was told they were near the wharf at the Beacon Avenue fish market earlier.

She says some people followed the orcas all along the waterfront from Beacon Avenue to the end of Lochside the video was taken from.
