Thousands of people are without power on Vancouver Island.
BC Hydro says more than 15,000 customers are without power in Port Alberni, with another 2,300 without power in both Tofino and Ucluelet.
In a 5:18 p.m. update Tuesday, the hydro company says crews are assigned to the restore the power. It says for all outages, transmission circuit failure is to blame.
The outages come amid a wind warning for West Vancouver Island, where Environment Canada says 80 km/h winds will hit exposed coastal sections Tuesday evening.
