There are currently more than 170 craft breweries across this British Columbia.

It’s an industry that has a long history in this province, and the Royal BC Museum has a wonderful collection from those early brewing days.

The collection includes items such as a Bunster’s Brewery brass spigot circa 1866, a Stanley Park ginger beer bottle from the 1890’s, a cardboard box from the Second World War which held a dozen pints of beer, and a collection of bottlecaps from the 1930’s onward.

Veronica Cooper looked over the collection with Paul Ferguson, collections manager at the Royal BC Museum’s history department.
