Heavy snow started falling on Vancouver Island Monday and Tuesday forcing several school districts to cancel all classes.

The University of Victoria says all classes are open today and North Island College says all campuses are open.

The snowfall warning has been lifted on Vancouver Island Wednesday morning.

Here is a list of school districts closed and open announced Wednesday:

Cowichan Valley School District SD 79

After a careful assessment of all school sites, all schools are closed Wednesday due to the snow.

Victoria School District SD 61

Closed for a third straight day.

Sooke School District SD 62 

Due to icy and snowy road conditions, Sooke School District is closed Wednesday

Saanich School District 63

Another snow day for Saanich School District.

Nanaimo School District SD 68

Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District superintendent Scott Saywell with a message of the reason for closing schools for a third day Wednesday.

Comox Valley School District 71

Comox Valley schools are in session Wednesday.

Qualicum District Schools SD 69

Schools are open Wednesday in Qualicum School District, with the exception of False Bay Elementary School.

Alberni Valley District SD 70 

All schools in the Alberni School District SD 70 are OPEN on Wednesday, buses are running

University of Victoria 

Open Wednesday for classes, but advises of potential bus delays.

Royal Roads University 

Campus is open and all classes and services will be back in operation today. Please use caution when travelling to campus and consider allowing yextra time time to get there

Vancouver Island University 

The Cowichan and Powell River campuses are closed Wednesday, and no classes in Nanaimo, but staff may come to work.

Parksville/Qualicum Centre, Milner Gardens and Woodland, and Deep Bay Marine Field Stations are all open for VIU.

Camosun College

Also closed is École Victor-Brodeur in Victoria.
