Horticultural Centre of the Pacific adapts during pandemic

Founded in 1979, the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific in Saanich is a nine-acre garden, cared for by volunteers, students and staff, and open to the public year-round.

The Gardens, as it is known, offers a huge variety of opportunities for the public, from a stroll through the various gardens, to a 10-month professional training program for those thinking of a career in horticulture.

It also offers community education classes for everyone from landscape professionals to hobby gardeners, with topics ranging from pruning, to basket weaving, flower arranging to painting.

Veronica Cooper paid a visit to the Gardens to see how their team has pivoted since the pandemic.
