Tensions boil over as Vees best Capitals in game five

WATCH: To quote Taylor Swift, “baby, we got bad blood” between the Cowichan Valley Capitals and Penticton Vees in their first-round BCHL playoff series.

The Vees defended home ice in a must-win scenario, downing the Capitals 4-1 in game 5 to pull Cowichan Valley’s series lead to 3-2.

Near the final buzzer, a high hit from a Vees player began a melee on the ice, which involved several players and multiple game misconducts. The teams will renew their acquaintances on Monday night at the Island Savings Centre for Game 6, where the Capitals will once again look to wrap up the series and avoid a game 7 on the road.
