Temperatures set to hit mid to high teens on Vancouver Island this weekend

The unseasonably cool weather is set to end later this week on Vancouver Island, according to Environment Canada.

The weather agency said the temperature in Victoria will reach double digits on Wednesday with a high of 10 C. After dropping a bit with rain on Thursday, there is supposed to be a high of 10 C on Friday and a high of 11 C. A high of 14 C and sun is in the forecast for Sunday followed by a high of 17 C.

The sun will also be out across Vancouver Island. Nanaimo is expected to reach 13 C on Sunday and 16 C on Monday. Courtenay could see the same daytime highs as could Duncan.

Rain is in the forecast for Tofino on Sunday but a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 17 C is expected on Monday. The northern part of island will be slightly cooler with 13 C and rain on Sunday and 15 C, with a mix of sun and cloud, on Monday.

The higher temperatures could break daily records.
