A technical issue on the Hullo vessel led to two cancellations Wednesday afternoon, but the company says the issue has been resolved for Thursday.

After guests boarded the 4:30 p.m. sailing to leave Nanaimo, the crew encountered an issue that prevented the vessel from sailing. The 6:30 p.m. leaving Vancouver was also cancelled.

“Crews worked through the night to remedy the issue, and all sailings today are moving forward as scheduled today,” Hullo said in an email to CHEK News.

“Hullo co-founders, CEO and staff assisted passengers impacted with alternate travel solutions and processed full refunds and offered vouchers for a future sailing.”

This comes after the planned launch of the new ferry service was delayed by two days due to a power outage and strong winds postponing the launch.

The first two sailings of the day went ahead as planned, but the two evening sailings did not.

On Thursday, the four daily sailings are expected to proceed as planned with the 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. leaving Nanaimo and the noon and 6:30 p.m. leaving Vancouver.
