Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are looking to identify a suspect who used stolen credit cards to make purchases at businesses in the area.
On Oct. 6, the detachment was contacted by a local resident who had their vehicle broken into. The resident told police the credit cards left in the vehicle was used at several local businesses shortly after.
On Oct. 8, police received a similar complaint about a vehicle being broken into and a wallet left inside stolen. Credit cards belonging to that resident were also used.
Video surveillance obtained from two businesses, the Shell Gas Station on Mt Newton Cross Road in Saanichton and the Chevron Gas Station on Beacon Avenue in Sidney, show the same unknown suspect with a distinctive mustache, hat and shoes.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Sidney/North Saanich RCMP at 250-656-3931, their local police department, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
