One arrested after bank robbery in Union Bay

One person has been arrested in connection with the robbery at the Union Bay Credit Union on Aug. 30.

At around 1 p.m. on Aug. 30, a suspect allegedly entered the bank, demanded money then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Comox Valley RCMP said Tuesday that an arrest had been made in relation to the robbery and Crown counsel is being consulted in regards to specific charges.

Police have not released the identity of the suspect but say that at this time, they believe that the robbery at the credit union and the robbery at the Buckley Bay ferry terminal on Aug. 27 are not connected.
