The 23-year-old Canadian who’s been outlasting all “Jeopardy!” competitors for over a month has logged her 23rd consecutive win on the American TV quiz show.
Toronto tutor Mattea Roach even surprised herself with victory in Wednesday’s episode because she was nearly $10,000 behind her lone challenger heading into “Final Jeopardy.”
A combination of Roach’s correct response to the clue, no response from her challenger, and a strategic bet earned Roach the win.
Roach holds the fifth-longest win streak in “Jeopardy!” history and has the fifth-highest cash winnings in regular-season play at over $560,000 USD.
