Oak Bay police say they are investigating after a stolen SUV from West Shore ended up in the ocean at Cattle Point early Tuesday morning.
Police were called at 1:23 a.m. for a vehicle in the ocean from the north boat ramp at Cattle Point.
The vehicle was discovered 90 feet offshore and submerged in about 20 feet of water.
Police say the SUV was unoccupied and is likely a write-off, adding the recovery was “challenging and dangerous” for C-Tow operators.
