The V2V Empress along with other vessels responded to a SOS call Saturday afternoon
A SOS call in Ross Bay on Saturday afternoon brought a response from Coast Guard vessels as well as the V2V Empress.
Residents in nearby Hollywood Crescent and Clover Point say that they witnessed two people on a capsized vessel being aided by multiple ships in the bay around 2 p.m. in the afternoon.
A spokesperson for V2V confirms that the Empress did receive a SOS communication and was asked by Coast Guard to stop and slow down, but did not have to participate in the rescue itself.
Details have not been released yet about the cause of the incident or the parties involved.
