Sooke RCMP says a woman who was the focus of a ground search Sunday has been located safe and in good health.
Police say the 35-year-old woman was reported missing by her family after not returning from a hike Saturday night.
Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue conducted the search near her residence in the Otter Point area after being called on Sunday morning.
Investigators said she was located in Sooke.
About 25 members were involved in the search, which was called off Sunday night.
Officials say family members became concerned when they noticed the woman’s wallet and other belongings were left at home, and that the woman said she was only going out for a hike.
