Drive B.C. says a vehicle incident has closed a section of Sooke Road. (Drive B.C.)
A motor vehicle incident has closed Sooke Road Sunday afternoon.
Officials say drivers should avoid the area, and that they are waiting for B.C. Hydro crews to arrive.
The accident occurred around 2:00 p.m. in the 4000-block of the road, the Metchosin Fire Department and RCMP are on the scene.
Drive B.C. says a detour is available through Happy Valley Road for drivers heading westbound, and through Kangaroo Road heading eastbound.
An update will be released at 4 p.m.
Witnesses report that power lines are down at the crash.
