All washrooms and kitchens on the east side of the main B.C. legislature building closed Thursday morning after a central main sewer line ruptured from a blockage Thursday morning.

According to a notice issued to all building staff, all washrooms and kitchens on the east side of the main building (east of the chamber) and east Annex will be closed until repairs on the line are completed. The washrooms are on the ground floor, first floor, second floor and third floor. There will be signs posted on the doors of the affected areas.

Any sinks or washrooms in department or ministerial offices should not be used.

All washrooms, sinks and kitchen areas on the west side of the main building and the West Annex, Press Gallery and Legislative Library are not impacted.
