Pop music lovers can relish in rhythm and melody when Gwen Stefani, the Grammy-award winning American singer, headlines next year’s Laketown Shakedown Music Festival on Vancouver Island.
Laketown Shakedown organizers on Sunday announced that Stefani, the voice behind the 2000s pop songs “Rich Girl,” “Hollaback Girl” and “The Sweet Escape,” would take the stage at the festival to envelop Laketown Ranch.
It’s happening June 28-30, 2024, near Lake Cowichan, and Stefani’s set to perform on the final night, according to organizers. Other performers are still under wraps.
The three-day event, which sees concert-goers camp at the 250-acre ranch, brings multi-genre artists to the Island, including this past June when Shaggy, Portugal. The Man and Third Eye Blind performed.
Wideglide Entertainment hosts both Laketown Shakedown and Sunfest Country Music Festival — the latter being a four-day event that saw headliner Blake Shelton perform on Sunday, Aug. 6, also at Laketown Ranch.

But Shelton had a surprise in store. His wife, Stefani, joined him on stage, where it was announced that she would be headlining Laketown Shakedown.
With applause from the crowd, they also performed two duets together, including “Nobody but You.” The song reached the number one spot on the Canada Country Billboard chart in 2020.
Stefani, with an expansive catalogue of solo albums and singles, is also known as the lead singer of the rock band No Doubt. In 2014 she became a judge on the U.S. reality singing series “The Voice,” joining fellow judge Shelton for several seasons.
First-tier tickets for Laketown Shakedown 2024 go on sale starting Aug. 29 at 9 a.m. through the festival’s website.
