Shamrocks rookie shines in victory over Burrards

CHEK

WATCH: Victoria Shamrocks rookie Tyson Gibson recorded a hat-trick to go along with three assists to lead the Victoria Shamrocks over the Maple Ridge Burrards by a score of 12-5 at the Q Centre on Friday night.

Gibson, with the help of Shamrocks sniper Casey Jackson paved the way for a consistent effort for the ‘Rocks, who improve to 6-1 on home floor this season.

A big reason for the win came from who wasn’t on hand for the visiting Burrards. Curtis Dickson, Ben McIntosh and Frank Scigliano all were out of the Maple Ridge line-up due to commitments to the Canadian Field Lacrosse team, who lost 9-8 to the Americans in a controversial finish of the gold medal game in Israel.

The Shamrocks now have a home-and-home with the last place Coquitlam Adanacs.
