West Shore RCMP said they are investigating an aggravated assault at Ruth King Elementary School on June 26, 2019.

West Shore RCMP say they are investigating a report of an aggravated assault Wednesday night on Ruth King Elementary School grounds.

Few details have been released by West Shore RCMP but police are on scene at the school. According to police, the incident took place during the late evening hours.

BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) confirmed they received a call for an incident at the school at 11:03 p.m. Two ground ambulances were at the scene by 11:08 p.m.

According to BCEHS, one patient was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Margeory Graham, who lives near the school, told CHEK she was taking clothing off her laundry line when two young males came running from behind the school and flagged down multiple BC Ambulance vehicles arriving on scene.

Graham also saw police vehicles pull up.

“I didn’t really know what was happening, just obviously somebody was hurt,” Graham said.

“And my daughter and her friend happened to walk by cause they were doing a walk around the block and she said her friend text her that somebody got stabbed over here.”

Other witnesses reported that the incident was a stabbing but that hasn’t been confirmed by officials.

The school is located at 2764 Jacklin Road in Langford.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
