Officials say one person is dead and two were sent to hospital in serious condition after a crash on the Malahat Saturday.
Emergency crews were called to the scene around 1 p.m.
The accident happened just north of Aspen Road in the 4200-block of the Trans-Canada Highway in a construction zone.
The RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed one death at the scene. The B.C. Ambulance Service says they transported the two victims in serious condition to hospital.
All lanes were opened back up by 5:49 p.m., Drive B.C. cautions that significant delays are still expected.
