Victoria Police officers are thanking bystanders for rescuing the driver of a vehicle at a serious accident in Esquimalt Saturday.
A tweet from VicPD said a vehicle had rolled over and knocked down a power pole at Viewfield Rd and Devonshire Road.
Police say two of the bystanders rescued the driver of the rolled and heavily damaged vehicle while another worked to extinguish the vehicle, which had caught on fire.
The driver and another bystander have been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The power in the area has been shut down for safety reasons, traffic on Devonshire Rd and Viewfield Rd is still disrupted and part of the E&N Railroad Trail has been closed.
