Police dog helps locate 'large quantity' of cocaine in Port McNeill, two arrested

Two people in Port McNeill were arrested after allegedly they were in possession of a “large amount” of cocaine.

According to the Port McNeill RCMP, officers along with a Port Alberni RCMP Police Service Dog named Jammer carried out a search warrant on a residence in the 200-block of Chelan Crescent back on May 20.

Police say officers seized a large quantity of what they believe is cocaine, along with additional evidence of drug trafficking, from the Port McNeill residence.

As a result of the discovery, a man and woman, whose identities were not disclosed, were arrested for trafficking cocaine.

The two are expected to appear in court at an undetermined date, according to the Port McNeill RCMP.
