Search intensifies for missing Nanaimo teen Makayla Chang

WATCH: RCMP search Nanaimo home as investigation into missing Nanaimo teen Makayla Chang intensifies

RCMP spent Wednesday evening searching a Nanaimo home ? hoping to find clues about a missing 16-year girl.

Makayla Chang, who also goes by Kayla and Finn, was last seen March 17th.

Police now believe the missing teen could be with 53-year old Steven Bacon.

He’s 5-foot-10 and around 209 lbs. with short, white hair, a thick goatee and a teardrop tattoo under his left eye.

Police executed a search warrant on Bacon’s home on Bruce Avenue in Nanaimo, looking for any evidence and hoping to find clues that could help them find Makayla Chang and bring her home to her family.

“She’s 16 years old she was living with family she was very active on social media she has dropped off the map that’s very concerning for us and her family,” says Cst. Gary O’Brien of Nanaimo RCMP.

Chang is described as part Asian/part Caucasian.

The missing teen is 5-foot-1 and 110 lbs. with short, dyed red hair.

She wears glasses and has piercings around her mouth.
