CUPE 441 and the Saanich School District said negotiations are continuing this weekend, and the strike may continue into next week.

A strike that began Oct. 28  over a wage dispute between School District 63 (Saanich) and the union representing support workers in the District continued into this weekend.

In the latest update posted to the District website, SD63 says that the parties met on Friday Nov. 1 to resume discussion.

They say that some progress was made and that both parties determined that additional time at the table is required.

The District also says that negotiations are continuing this weekend with the aim of reaching a settlement as soon as possible.

They say that parents and guardians who are looking for additional information, including whether or not schools will be open on Monday, should monitor the website at www.sd63.bc.ca.
