Saanich police warning public after sexual assault at Rudd Park

Saanich police are warning the public after a person was sexually assaulted in Rudd Park around 1 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the victim was eventually able to scare the suspect away, he is described as a 5 foot 8 inches tall man who was riding a black bike.

“[We are] Urging the public to be aware of their surroundings and to stay safe,” said Cst. Shawn Taneja in a statement.

The incident is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Saanich Police at 250-475-4321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

No further details are available from the police at this stage of the investigation.
