Saanich police seek help to find purse-snatching suspect

Saanich Police is asking for help to track down a suspect involved in an early morning robbery Thursday in Rudd Park.

Police say a 23-year-old woman was walking through the park on Whittier Avenue around 2 a.m. when an unknown man grabbed her purse and fled towards Burnside Road.

The purse and some of its contents was found by a Saanich Police K9 team, but the woman’s wallet is still missing.

Police say the suspect was wearing dark clothing and a hat.
