RCMP investigate report of woman grabbed by a man in a Courtenay park

Comox Valley RCMP is hoping the public can them track down a suspect after a receiving a report of a woman assaulted at a park in Courtenay.

Police were told the incident happened around 7:45 a.m. Thursday as a 21-year-old woman was walking through Bill Moore Park in the 2300-block of Kilpatrick Avenue.

The woman told police a man approached from behind and grabber her arm, but she was able to flee after turning around and kicking him, which made the suspect fall down.

Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian man, about 5’9″ tall with a thin build and is about 40-years-old.

He looked disheveled with curly brown hair that was possibly longer in the back.

The suspect had a faded red running jacket with a reflective horizontal stripe on the back and work black jeans ripped at the knees.
