The sun is out and it’s a nice day to go for a drive but Saanich police are reminding drivers to watch their speed.

In a post to their Twitter, Saanich PD says they have impounded a white Chevrolet Corvette that was going 100 km an hour in a 50 zone near the Uptown Shopping Centre.

“Nice day for a nice ride in a nice car,” the tweet from police reads. “Just remember to watch your speed.”

Police departments across B.C. are also cracking down on distracted drivers in March. The month-long campaign is meant to discourage drivers from using their phones.

More than one in every four fatal crashes on the province’s roads involve distracted driving, according to ICBC.
