Saanich Police have confirmed investigators have left the scene of the attempted bank robbery at BMO on Shelbourne Street.
Const. Markus Anastasiades, spokesperson with Saanich Police tells CHEK News most businesses were permitted to reopen on Thursday, but there were two or three that were required to remain closed for the investigation.
All businesses are now permitted to reopen, and traffic will return to normal.
“The big message here is that Shelbourne is now open for traffic,” Anastasiades said. “We thank the public for their patience as we process the scene. We had no option but to shut down Shelbourne Street.”
The Saanich Police Department and the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit would like to express our sincere appreciation to the public for their patience as our investigators worked tirelessly to complete the challenging protracted investigation of the scene. #Saanich
