Employees at a grocery store in Saanich have tested positive for COVID-19

According to a recent information bulletin posted on Sobey’s website, workers at the Thrifty Foods on Royal Oak Drive in Saanich recently tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The employee’s last day worked were Oct. 3 and Oct. 7.

Sobey’s, the parent company of Thrifty Foods, does not disclose when employees tested positive, instead, saying that they work with public health to support those who become infected.

“We will always do everything we can to support our teammates and ensure their safety,” reads a statement on the company’s website.

The company is one of the few remaining large corporations operating in B.C. to publicly announce if their employees test positive for COVID.
