Parksville’s fire chief says an RV and its contents are a “complete loss” after an early morning fire.
The department was called out just before 2 a.m. to the 900 block of Island Highway East.
Fire Chief Marc Norris says the RV appears to be “lived in” but there were no occupants located at the time of the fire.
Police have been tasked with tracking down the owner of the RV.
“The unit and contents are a complete loss,” Norris says.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
While firefighters were dousing the flames, the highway was closed for between 20 to 30 minutes and then single-lane alternating traffic was implemented.
